OHM Beads BEADMAIL PROJECT

Going to the mailbox and finding a package from OHM Beads is one of my favourite things ever! I have absolutely fallen in love with this brand and collecting their phenomenal beads has become an obsession. I sadly missed out on their Bead of the Month project a few years ago where each month a unique bead was released. They had amazing designs and the packaging was really innovative and special. I have been able to gather quite a few of the beads before they are completely sold out but I still wish I had been around to participate in the launch "live".

Therefore, I am even more excited for the latest program OHM has created. This time they are releasing 3 bead designs, one each in April, May, and June 2021. Similar to a 3-month subscription box, the program is pre-paid and once the window for signing up is closed, registration will no longer be available. Joining the pilot project is $150 and the closing date is February 14th, so only 10 more days to sign on and experience the thrill of 3 Limited Edition beads being delivered right to you!

I cannot wait to see what OHM has come up with for designs. I have no qualms about purchasing sight-unseen and am very excited to be surprised! OHM Beads January 2021 Release

The OHM Beads January 2021 Release was a big one, featuring three major collections, Thailand exclusives, plus some individual beads from a previous set now available separately. There were so many new things to explore I filmed videos to introduce each collection and provide a good overview of what is available. First up is the RAWR collection which consists of 8 new silver beads and three glass. This is a continuation of the dinosaur/bones/skulls theme and the new additions are phenomenal. These are just so incredibly detailed and it's amazing to me just how much personality and expression OHM crafted into each piece. My favourite is the Sabertooth Skull (those fangs are just so cool!) and the caveman and dinosaurs are super fun too. The glass beads are perfect for rounding out a prehistoric bracelet design and each of the three new additions are representative of the ancient land masses which created our world. There are really interesting descriptions for each bead on the OHM Beads website and I highly recommend you read them. They each have different meanings and if you're choosing your glass and silvers for both meaning and design, it really helps. 

Next, OHM has some absolutely stunning beads for Chinese New Year. This collection boasts five new glass beads and 5 new, astonishingly complex silvers, including three dangles! The glass all are variations in lovely, rich reds with gold, bubbles, dimples, and even a square shape. Again, different meanings assigned to each, and it's worth taking a look to learn more. The three dangles are so delicate, imaginative and completely mesmerizing! I had to choose The Red Lanterns for my first purchase. This bead has so much going on, from the intricate, flowered bale, to the enchanting glass orb encased in a silver cage, to the fine chains swaying from the bottom. The Exploding Bamboo is another wowzer, with 7 fireworks clustered in a dangle from a square bale. Finally, Mystic Knot is a significant and beautiful bead symbolizing many things in Buddhism. It is definitely a wonderful and spiritual bead to add to a bracelet design.The collection also has two handsome ox beads. The Year of the Ox is the Chinese zodiac bead for this year. Add him to your bracelet for good luck! Ox Olé is an impressive dance mask bead whose jaw opens and nose ring moves. It is stunning!

The last set of beads is the Beauty Collection which has 7 silver pieces ranging from make-up and appliances, to wine to peas! I know I must get Red or White (the fun bottle and glasses) to add to my 'Indulgence' bracelet but Two Peas in a Pod had to be my first buy to represent my twins. It also happens to be so magical, with a stunning leaf bale and two sweet peas that move independently, their expressions turning up randomly. 

Finally , there are 5 exquisite Thailand Exclusive glass beads. They all are delicate, pinky, mauve-y, and gorgeous! I have yet to see them in person but I know they are absolutely magnificent because OHM glass beads are always amazing!

Also, now available separately are the wife, husband, and orange glass bead from the previously released Gong Xi Fa Cai set.

OHM Beads October 2020 Preview

There is much to anticipate in the OHM Beads October 2020 release, from artist Gus Fink's Boogily Heads Collection, Bennett Klein's Skullkins, and the Steampunk Collection, to this year's incredible Halloween beads, and more! I am thrilled and excited to be able to offer a preview of these creative and unique beads, available October 1st, 2020. There are too many for me to showcase here but I've chosen a few of my favourites to highlight!

Ohm Beads Glass for October 2020

Let's start with the glorious glass beads, all so beautifully rich with Fall colours and spooky Halloween vibes. Infected Dream, so dark and swirled with threads of green, is the first pick on my wish list. The bumpy, black Into the Night is a second favourite, but I have fallen so in love with OHM Glass beads that it is impossible to resist any of them.

Ohm Australia Exclusive Swaggie

My number one choice in silver is even tougher but my heart tells me it has to be Swaggie, the OHM Beads Australia exclusive. This incredibly detailed swagman (a farm worker who walks from place to place looking for work) has his supplies with him, all magnificently carved and cast in sterling silver. I absolutely love the story that goes along with the bead description, detailing the fate of our feisty fellow as lyrically told in the ballad "Waltzing Matilda". Australia, and the song, both conjure up sweet memories of my childhood and the OHM Swaggie definitely reminds me of them.

The Boogily Heads are designed by Gus Fink and are available in a fantastic bundle which includes limited edition, signed versions as well as a LE version of Qually (only available by purchasing the full set, limited to 111)! Each character has a different personality for you to uncover.

The Skullkins appear on Halloween night and although they may seem creepy and scary, they are not to be feared! Designed by Bennett Klein, these little creatures are fabulously detailed and perfect for an October themed design.
