With my workshop all tidy and an abundance of counterspace at the ready, I decided to catch up on my scrapbooking. I had quite a stack of photos from August 2014 onwards that needed to be in albums and I chose the 'A Stitch in Twine' Fast2Fab album from Ahni & Zoe to begin a new year of cropping. (Both Creative Memories and Ahni & Zoe products can now be purchased once again from the new company
website.)
While I love the colour and look of this album, as well as the theme, I wasn't sure the pre-designed pages were going to work with the many pictures I wanted to add. I was thrilled as I went along and each page seemed to fit perfectly with the number and orientation of my photos. I didn't add any extra paper and quickly adhered the pics onto the 'photo mats' in each layout. Sometimes I added an additional photo or cropped several to fit in the empty spaces, and each page looks beautiful and cohesive. I included several title stickers and either journaled in the lines provided or added one of the 'slide-in pack' journaling cards. I used dimensional adhesives to pop-up a few pics here and there for some variety and depth.
In no time at all I was caught up. It feels so good to have the pages complete and my photos safely in albums. I did reserve my Vegas trip pictures for a 7x7 album project I'll do when I get together with my cropping buddies. I'm so happy that I can still order from both companies as each has products I love. I still have a bit of paper and a few albums set aside from before but I'm getting low on tape runner and page refills. Listening to music and scrapbooking is still one of my favourite things to do and I get utterly lost in the moment when I'm working on my albums. I play some wonderful music (Pink Floyd is one of my go-to selections) and I totally zen-out in memories and relaxation. Sessions like that remind me that I can't eliminate the hobby from my life even though quilting is front and centre. Making time for both will be a priority in 2015.
