Oooh, look what just landed on my front porch! This is my order from Connecting Threads (where I took advantage of the Coupon Code I shared with you) and I can't believe how fast it arrived since I only got the shipping notice yesterday! That is unbelievable for a delivery to Canada so I was shocked when the doorbell rang at 8:30 this morning!
The Lantern print from Tula Pink is just as pretty as it looked on-line. I thought the motif repeat would be a bit larger but it's just stunning the size it is. I don't have a project in mind for this fabric so I bough 5 yards of it to keep my options open in case I want to use it for backing. I added 2-1/2 yards each of green and denim, which were offered as co-ordinating solids with the line. I think the dark colour in the design is black so I'm not sure where the denim blue fits in but I can definitely use it. The green is a great match!
I added the fat quarter sampler as well. It contains the other prints in Tula's line (very pretty and whimsical with butterflies and forest creatures), as well as more co-ordinating solids. I'm sure I can find plenty of patterns to make use of the mixture of cuts I bought or I can even scan them into EQ7 and design my own project. (I still haven't had time to play with that feature of the software but hopefully I will make time in the new year!).
It's been a while since I ordered from Connecting Threads (my Camille Roskelley obsession took over my fabric budget for a while!) and they are still a great company. As I wrote in my last post, their shipping price ($7) to Canada is amazing and there are no extra charges at the door because they add the handling to the order. They are obviously super fast too and I always wonder why other companies I order from can't take a page from CT's shipping department handbook. Also, two days after I placed my order I got a promotional email about a 20% off sale. I called customer service and they credited me the difference from what I paid. I thought that was good service and now I have $15 to spend on my next order.
That was my last fabric indulgence (for this year, anyway) so now I must get to work in 2015 using some of it up. I am seriously running out of storage room for my stash and the family is starting to get concerns of hoarding! (Not to mention there are already gorgeous collections being released that are calling my name! (Cough ''Boathouse'' by Sweetwater).
