When I went back to my LQS to get more 1-1/2" curved pins (they are so good compared to my other crappy safety pins that I cleaned her out of the order she just got, 6 packs to add to my other few. I think I'm good now to pin any size quilt!), I noticed a single bolt of the flannel Olaf Frozen fabric. Knowing I would love to use this for the backing of the Frozen quilt I eventually want to make as I slowly gather the fabrics, I snatched some up. It had only just arrived and I was the first to see it. I got 5 meters (just over 5 yards) because I couldn't quite remember how much the pattern called for. She said the bolt would probably be empty the next day so I didn't want to end up short. When I got home and checked - it was the perfect amount!
Then I got an email saying that the Fons & Porter Frozen Sisterly Love quilt kit was back in stock and the staff were busy cutting the fabrics in preparation to ship. I decided I'd better just pre-order and get it over with so both daughters could have a quilt. I added the backing fabric as well and for just under $200 US I can make another quilt. This Frozen movie is costing me a mint and I hope my girls will appreciate the effort. My husband, being the softie that he is, said I cannot give one daughter a quilt and not the other so I didn't feel too badly about spending the money. Of course, add to that the name of the pattern (Sisterly Love) and their love of Disney and Frozen, and how could I say no? Each quilt will be slightly different since one is from the kit and one is from my fabric hunt. Fortunately, son has zero interest in either Frozen or quilts!
