While I was very sad to see the end of the 'old' Creative Memories company, once I was introduced to the new products from Ahni & Zoe by Creative Memories, I felt much better!
This streamlined selection of scrapbooking essentials is still aimed at getting the photos and memories safely preserved, but in a really fast and fun way.
There is the option of a pre-designed album, Fast2Fab, complete with decorated pages, areas for journaling, and page protectors. These albums are very similar to the bookcloth-covered albums and coversets from the former company. There is still lots of room for creativity and additional embellishments but also the choice to just get it done by simply adhering the photos to the page!
The other option is similar to the former PicFolio pocket albums, with the new vertical or horizontal Slide-In Albums. What's really nice is that you can buy refills for any of the albums and then mix 'n match. That excites me because I like the idea of having a few creatively 'scrapbooked' leader pages and then perhaps having several slide-in pages for the extra photos. It's like the perfect world for a busy, getting back-logged scrapbooker!
This is the first album I chose to work with, called Annie Get Your Gumball (don't ask, I don't know why!). It has a pretty blue cover and fun, colourful artwork inside. There are quite a few outlined spaces for photos. I think I will probably start out using them as provided and perhaps 'colour outside the lines' on other layouts. Plus, I got some re-fill slide-in pages so I can add extra photos. I want to get some large single-pocket ones too so that I can include my own layout page and/or memorabilia.
So while there is a pared-down product line at Ahni & Zoe, there is still everything I need and many fun options for preserving my photos. I am excited to try these new offerings and I think they were actually released at just the right time for me personally. I'm pretty sure I'm going to love getting my scrapbooks done faster and yet still have the room to play with design and layout when the mood strikes. I'll share my progress and reviews as I complete my pages!
