You may recall me writing about this scarf kit I bought back in April. The yarn has a honeycomb/net design and it's a little trickier to knit with than regular wool. So tricky, in fact, that even watching the video I just couldn't get the hang of using it. It's been a long time since I've knit and my mind and needles were just not co-operating! I put away the kit and gave up.
Well...my wonderful friend Amy to the rescue! Amy is the lovely young lady who inspired me to begin quilting in the first place and helped me make my first rag quilt. She was kind enough to take the yarn and directions and being the talented smarty-pants that she is, had no trouble at all whipping out the scarf - and she enjoyed it! What was an exercise in frustration for me was a fun homework diversion for Amy. She gave me the sparkly scarf and she'll knit the brown one for herself.
I was so surprised at the finished scarf. It ends up in a unique shape with circular bands all the way down - it reminds me of a sea coral. Amy did such a good job and I'm so excited to have my scarf - without the frustration of knitting it! Thank you, Amy!!!
