The third t-shirt I completed for Eileen Roche's Machine Embroidered T-Shirt Craftsy class was this squiggle & flower embellished one.
For this project a squiggle line of nylon mesh is stitched onto each side of a v-neck shirt in two hoopings. Then, six double-sided fabric flowers are made by embroidering on specific areas of patterned fabric, cutting them out, and stitching them around the neckline on the squiggle. Finally, heat-set crystals are sprinkled here and there and in the centre of each flower.
This design was so fun to complete because it was really low-pressure! If the two sides of the squiggle don't line up you can just cover that part with a flower! I thought it turned out great and I really impressed myself. I think the embellishment is just the right amount of bling and I think the boring grey shirt is kind of fun now. I wore this out and my sister teased me and laughed...telling me I shouldn't be working on clothing, only quilts. Whatever! I like it!
