I just happened to see Tula Pink on 'Sewing with Nancy' and I enjoyed her free-spirited approach to modern quilting. Of course I ended up buying the book which includes patterns for quilts shown on the episodes, as well as for other projects - like an eye mask and a lamp shade.
Once again I was immediately drawn to the actual quilting on the samples reviewed in Tula Pink's segments of the show and it comes as no surprise that all the quilting for the book was done by Angela Walters. Fabulous as always! And the photography of the quilts is quite lovely, with beautiful backdrops and interesting angles.
'Quilts from the House of Tula Pink' opens with Tula's techniques for creating triangles, making a tube, fussy cutting, and more and has plenty of tips on design, fabric selection, and quilting. There is also section about the fabric design process which I initially skipped over as that's not my focus right now...but it is interesting reading to get the perspective of a fabric designer when it comes to how fabric is made!
Another beautiful book to add to the library! By the way, if you have the time, it's really fun to watch episodes of Sewing with Nancy on-line because you can watch what interests you and stop, go back, and watch again...and it's free!
Tula Pink has a new book coming out called 100 Blocks for Modern Quilters (or something like that)that I want! I don't have the one above though.
