I wrote last month about Quilting Arts tv & Quilting Arts Magazine. I haven't received my first issue of the magazine yet but...I did cave in and order the 1000 series of tv episodes on DVD! I'm too impatient to wait for them to air on Canadian television and I'm interested in the subject matter NOW!
I did get the DVDs in the mail and have been having a blast watching a Quilting Arts tv marathon. I feel so spoiled being able to watch one after another - and it's great being able to fast-forward through the sponsors & lengthy opening sequence.
My desire to start art quilting is in over-drive and each guest has another great technique to share. While I am totally inspired to use what I've learned I'm also actually very confident I can do it! The artists are all wonderful, creative, and talented people but as I'm watching I am often thinking to myself "well, I can do that!" I don't know if it's a matter of them making it look easy but I am getting all kinds of ideas as to what I can do and how I'll do it. I think I will find my own style and will probably incorporate bits and pieces from what I've seen and learned over this past year. My creative forces are in full gear and the Quilting Arts tv is just adding fuel to the fire!
I think I will be ordering the next series when it becomes available. Having the show on DVD is a great way to be able to watch and re-watch the segments I'm interested in (which is all of them!) at my convenience...and not 3-4 years after they been aired!!
If you're interested, you can download single episodes or get an entire season of Quilting Arts tv, on their website, HERE.
