We enjoy homemade waffles a couple of times a month so I am always looking for new and varied recipes. I had some buttermilk in the fridge so these Belgian Buttermilk Waffles were the ideal choice to try. We were not disappointed! The waffles were rich, thick, crispy, golden, and full of flavour and they held up well to lots of syrup and peaches. Following is the written recipe, and I've included one of my early youtube tutorial videos as well, showing how easy it is to prepare waffles from scratch. (Note: there's no need to separate the eggs in this recipe, which makes the waffles even simpler and quicker to make. I mixed them by hand using a whisk... Remember: the following video demonstrates a DIFFERENT waffle recipe than the one written below!)
