I wanted to make a box which would hold a set of cards and envelopes and this crayon box I came up with is perfect!
I sized the crayon box from Tags, Bags, Boxes & More on my Gypsy to fit standard A2 cards and the measurements came out to be: 11.66 wide and 8.88 high. The Cricut is awesome because it does all the measuring, figuring, and cutting!
After I assembled the box (so easy and fast because all the score lines are marked for you and using the scoring blade on the Fiskars trimmer makes it super simple) I decorated the Old Olive Textured card stock box with Old Olive designer series paper, Chocolate Chip card stock, and a monogram. The Lovely Letters stamp set 'K' looks great on the medallion from the Artistic Etchings set as a background, along with a scalloped circle. It's difficult to tell from the photo, (click on any photo to see it larger) but I made up a solution of Shimmer Paint and rubbing alcohol and sprayed it from a bottle to get a shimmery effect on the medallion. I also added a bit of dazzling diamonds to the monogram and a bow to the top of the box. The box will easily hold 6 cards and envelopes (yet to be made) and I plan on giving this to my mother for Christmas.
