When my mother in law was visiting she kept talking about "Disappearing" Oatmeal cookies and how she'd grab them on the way out the door because they were pretty much breakfast in your hand. I had to look this up after she left and found the Quaker recipe for VANISHING Oatmeal Raisin Cookies...and then I decided to make them for myself.
Sure, they contain wholesome ingredients like oats and raisins (and nuts if you have no allergies), are very tasty and portable...but don't be fooled by grandma. These are 100%, totally COOKIES! There is butter and a ton of sugar, plus white refined flour in the recipe. They are easy to make (I did half a batch) and scrumptious, of course. As you can see, there was one missing while they were still on the cookie sheet and whether Vanishing or Disappearing, they truly did not last long in the biscuit tin!
A very good recipe...maybe just not for breakfast too often! You can get the recipe from Quaker, HERE.
